Evangelism on the Beach

One Saturday I met a lady at the walkway by the beach when we went there to share the Gospel.

I thought it was a good opportunity and I better not miss talking to her. So I drove my wheelchair up to her and asked her, “Hello, do you know the Lord?” She said, “No, I don’t really. I haven’t ever looked into it.”

I said, “Well, he appeared to Moses and said his name was Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. But he was too distant, and people didn’t understand him. So, 2000 years ago, he came down as a man, as Jesus, so he could be among us and show us what God was like. He taught the way back to God. Then He died on the cross. Do you know why he had to die?” “No.”

I said, “Well, do you think you’re good enough to go to Heaven?” “Probably.” “Have you ever heard of the Ten Commandments? God gave them to Moses.” “Yes, I have heard of them.” The lady smiled and I did too. I said, “Well, I’m going to ask you three of them. There are ten, but I’ll only ask you 3.”

“Ok.” “Have you ever lied?” “Yes.” “I have too. So, what do we call someone who’s lied?” “They’re a liar I guess.” “Yeah. The second one I’ll ask you is, have you ever disobeyed your parents?” “No.” “What about when you were little?” “Oh, yeah.” “The third one I will ask you is, have you ever stolen something, big or small?” “Yes.”

I continued, “So, God is going to bring to justice rapists and bank robbers. The things that we have done wrong may seem very small. But God is perfect, and the Bible says the wages of sin is death. The bad news is that we all deserve to die, and we all do die… ”

“But the Bible verse also says that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ. We broke the law, but Jesus paid the fine by dying for us. This means that if we confess our sins to God and turn from them, we can be forgiven by Him. We can then live our lives for the Lord Jesus.”

Two young men who I guessed were the lady’s boyfriend and another guy had been around, listening. She said to me, “Wow, I didn’t know all that before.” I said, “Yes, it’s a very simple message. It’s called the Gospel, which means, “Good News,” because it’s the best news of all time.” I asked her if she had a Bible, encouraged her to read one and gave her a booklet with the Gospel written in it to read again.

The gospel on video can be found here and is good to share with people when you do not know what to say – when you don’t know all the words of the gospel off by heart. Www.biblein11.com

Another possible video to share which covers the Gospel is this one:

The booklet I gave the lady to read afterwards is this one: https://nz.livingwatersdownunder.com/p/4-things-you-need-to-know-about-god/

I got my ideas for talking about Yahweh from this video:
